Why We Offer Training Incentives

We at Kindred Spirits MAS believe a trained dog is a happy dog! We encourage not only basic training but specialty training and competitions as well! When an owner is training their dog a great bond is established and their lives together are better for it. A trained dog is less likely to do damage to property, less likely to be hurt or killed in accidents, and less likely to ever need rehomed.

There are many different types of specialty training that you can do with your dog. These include but are not limited to advanced obedience, conformation, agility, flyball, tracking, herding, dock diving, protection, disc dog, lure coursing and more. You can train your dog in these different areas for fun or you can get into some serious competition. It is all fun for your dog because he is spending time with the one he loves most.

When the puppies that we produce are out there training and competing, it looks good on our breeding program too. The American Kennel Club keeps records of wins and titles earned and the titles go before or after the dog’s registered name. So if a dog wins and earns a title and someone sees that dog’s name, (which includes our Kennel name) with his title they might decide to buy a puppy from us.

So we decided to offer a training incentive for the buyers of our puppies. As the pup completes different training and earns different titles we pay little rewards to his owner. Puppy Kindergarten earns $25, Basic Obedience earns $50, Advanced Obedience and Specialty classes earn $75, AKC Good Citizen Title earns $50 and any other AKC Title earns $100. The owner can complete several of these classes and/or earn titles with a lifetime maximum of $400. It isn’t a lot, but we hope it will be enough of an incentive for puppy parents to train their puppy and enjoy a long life with a trained dog that they are greatly bonded to.
